I apologize for being behind on this blog post series, but I accidentally broke my netbook (!) and it is hard to blog otherwise. Typing on my smartphone is a pain, especially when I try to juggle a book under my elbows.
I promise to try and catch up, though I might switch ahead to the time period I am in.
Look for more posts, more focused on food and my exercise plans, and maybe a little wedding talk!

I love Tonia from Racing with Babes‘ recaps each month. So I borrowed her idea.

Stats from January 2013:

Miles ran: 20.56 (taking a 4-week break to help my shin splints)

Miles biked: 32.5

Yards swam: 6425 (3.65 miles)

Miles on the elliptical: 8.18

Calories burned: 10,414

Number of workouts: 22

Current book: Finished “The Hunger Games” by Christmas; Now listening to “The Dante Club” by Matthew Pearl on CD in the car. Many, many wedding books.

Current healthy snacks: Planter’s NUT-rition Energy Mix (which seems vegan!) and Primal vegan jerky

Current song: “Everylong” by Foo Fighters

Current splurge: I did go to Roburrito’s once this month. Was it worth it? Always. But I think I need to give myself other splurges, as this was TOO calorie dense for my liking.

Current triumph: Finishing an intense swimming workout at a clinic

Current goal: To get back to running; to finish my indoor tri on Feb. 23

2013 To Do List:


Complete an indoor triathlon — signed up for the Tri To Help in MD on Feb. 23

Complete my first half marathon — signed up for the Nike’s Women’s Half on April 28

Complete my first outdoor triathlon 

Start lifting again — Fail


Lose 33 pounds by Dec. 31 — Down 7 pounds; 26 to go

Less carbs, more protein (55/30/15) — the past two weeks have been great


Save 10K for the wedding — Closing in on this goal

Save 1K for emergencies — On hold for now

Get a grip on my spending — Fail
