No. 1 — On Sunday we said goodbye to one of our priests at St. Joesph’s, Fr. Dennis. Father was a hoot, always so personable and just a great evangelizer. He truly will be missed, by the hourlong wait we had to say goodbye! Yes, there was a line, and it was still long when we left. Father was going to marry us next year, and we worried that because he was running a hermitage, he would no longer fill that role. WE WERE WRONG! We can request to have him be our celebrant. This makes me a happy Catholic, because I want someone we have a connection to and that will be loving and inviting during our wedding, as many of our guests are of other religions or none at all. (Not that the other priests at St. Joseph’s aren’t great; they are amazing, too! We just have a relationship with Fr. Dennis.
No. 2 — Meeting 2 with another photographer, NOVA Studios. They were awesome, too, and do a lot of work for a great deal. Now on to one more photography studio and then the final decision!
No. 3 — Trying to find “our song” has been a pain. How can you find a song that you both like, has the right lyrics AND wasn’t a song between you and your ex? Plus, it needs to be a slow tempo, right? Well, not for us. Somehow Jamieson and I stumbled upon Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros a long time ago and fell in love with the group’s song “Home.” It is a little bluegrass, a little hippy, a little love. I love this song. He loves this song. It is our song.

No. 1 — I am moving my desk back to my old area of the newsroom. It is a bittersweet feeling, because I loved this job and now it is changing. I thought I found my niche, but with journalism, you have to roll with the punches.
No. 2 — I really, REALLY need to change my diet. I was doing some research aka Googling “why can’t I lose any weight?” I found an article that gave possible indicators for being insulin resistant. Oh boy, I have like seven or more of these indicators, despite my blood work for my level always being fine; (and by fine, I mean my doctor never alarms me with it being too high or close to it.)
Anyway, I figured I need to fix my situation and if the issue doesn’t resolve itself in three weeks — three weeks of eating excellent, exercising and NO cheat meals — then I am going to the doctor and asking “WTF!?”.
No. 3 — Oh, wedding, how I loathe you. I am SO stressed out and I hope that goes away, soon. (yea, rrriiigghhhttt.) Now we are on to photographers. By September, I need: to have sent out the save-the-dates, have sent out the wedding announcements, got my dress ordered, have my bridesmaid dresses ordered, picked a photographer, picked a florist, picked a baker for the dessert, have Jamieson order his kilt and the groomsmen their kilts/tuxedos.
Bridezilla, here I come.

I am sorry I have been behind. This post was supposed to be Three Things Thursday, but Tuesday’s post was supposed to be photos from our recent trip to Michigan. Well, I didn’t take any photos.
Also, I missed my wordless Wednesday chance, but this Thursday will be partially wordless anyhow.
Here are some of our engagement photos:

Wow. I can’t believe it has been a full year already. 2012 went by so quickly, and many things have happened.
January – March: The weather wasn’t so frightful here, and the warmer winter helped my seasonal depression and running. I went out on the trail a lot. I didn’t get stuck at the bottom of the hill near our apartment. I also tried to give up technology on Sundays. That eventually failed.
April: I tried 50 States, 50 Vegan Dishes. It was my 26th birthday.
May: Three years with Batman. We went to Virginia. What a trip.
Summer: I trained and raced a 10-miler. I loved it, most of the time. I decided to run a half marathon next. I also switched jobs in my office, moving to days and finally having weekends and nights off for the first time in five years. Also, I had my first yard sale. My dad almost had a second heart attack.
Fall: The new schedule made working on the farm that much more difficult. Earlier in the summer, I decided to take a break from blogging, but came back for Vegan MoFo. That didn’t go as successfully as I would have hoped. Plus, I burnt apple butter. We moved into a new apartment, and realized it wasn’t the best decision we ever made; it was quite possibly the worst of the year.
Winter: I tried NaNoWriMo and realized that I can’t write on a timeline. I prefer reading on a timeline. My Pop wasn’t doing so well and he went into a nursing home. I got ENGAGED!
YES, Batman is marrying Wonder Woman. Watch out, world.
2012 was quite an eventful year, with a few changes. I am hoping 2013 will be even better, with a wedding to plan (not until 2014, so hold off, people), pounds to lose, races to race, books to read, posts to write and trips to take. Also, I hope to check things off my bucket list.
Happy 2013, everyone!

So I disappeared for awhile. Sorry about that! It’s just I couldn’t come up with anything new to blog about and everything I did felt … boring.
I lead a boring life. Yet it’s filled with so many things to do, including my best friend’s wedding this past weekend! I was her program-maker so I was busy for weeks planning and making these. Then the weekend finally came and went.
And here we are again, with a trashed apartment and a million projects and ideas floating in my head. Maybe I should right them all down, huh?
- Herbal shampoo
- Start a program making business
- My Wonder Woman costume for Comic Con
- Sell items around the house for money
- Get my finances with Batman squared away
- Cook/bake up a storm
- Can before the fall comes
- START A NEW BLOG!
Yes, you heard me right. I am planning on moving Wonder Vegan to a new WordPress, as I have a very creative idea for posts that could possibly offend the ones I love. lol. I will still be Wonder Vegan, just in secret. I am sorry to those of my friends that won’t read my blog but if I gain popularity, you just might.
I am thinking I will multi-blog sometimes, if I blog over there on neutral topics, such as my above topics. BUT I am planning on changing the name of this blog, probably to something like “Bethany’s thoughts” or another lamer name.
I would love to hear your thoughts!
